Aluminum is perfect for the kitchen or bathroom or anywhere a sign might get a splash of water. If it gets wet, just wipe it off, it will be fine. If it gets grimy, hand wash it, it will be fine. (Don't soak it for a long time, though.) No need to worry like you would with a canvas or a poster. You can even put the sign outdoors in the elements.
